THE HOUSE OF ANCESTORS

A multi-illustrative sculptural and interior space making series on ethnographical diaspora re-imagined within memories and emotional subconscious cultural frameworks.

Drawing from a bank of historical, sociological, jungian collective consciousness and Dream research. Including individuals resolved memories, myths, family lore and dreams to embolden everyday objects with culturally significant ‘handwork’ to re-create an ever present declaration of futuristic positive archives. ( Or as I would prefer to say embuing sacredness into objects through a spiritual plane through ones’ hands and time.)

The objects held within these liminal spaces rejoice in the absence of displacement, trauma and any hardships through its majestic space taking and beauty.

The Presented brings forth a space inducing prayer like - Sacredness-embued with the echo again and again for many the peoples of the colonial experience; one of racism, segregation, displacement and poverty. Where new borders -partitions and ethno-nationalism carries the violent rhetoric designs towards women identifying, brown, black bodies and powerless bodies and ecologies.
